This pendant is cast as an oval medal, its face engraved with a portrait of Christ wearing the crown of thorns, worked with fine visible detail across the hair, beard, and features. Above the portrait, an ornate scrolled halo runs in a continuous decorative border, giving the top of the medal added detail beyond the figure itself. The engraving sits within a raised polished rim that frames the oval, protecting the finer relief work from wear at the edge. It hangs from a fine curb chain with a spring ring clasp.
