The wheat chain, sometimes called a spiga chain after the Italian word for wheat spike, is built from tightly interlocked links that spiral around a central axis, creating a braided, rope-like effect rather than a flat, linear one. It's a technically demanding weave, and it shows: light plays across the twisted surface constantly as it moves, giving the chain a sense of texture and dimension that a plain link chain simply doesn't have.
